Church Maria Loretto
Recreation and interior design of the Church Maria Loretto, 1210 Vienna, Austria
The aim was to enlarge the hall of the church, to capture a bigger number of church visitors.
The enlarged organ choir also called for a new staircase. On the other side of the tower a conversation room was built. The floor was rebuilt with completely new floor furnish of “Kehlheimer tiles” and integrates a floor heating. The minor rooms, as for example the sacristy, reused the old tiles. Inside of the church the banks were reorganized and a new lighting system realized.
A dimmer system allows a stepless control of the lighting, from shining bright to a very dimmed atmosphere. The essential elements of the church room are the new stone altar and the new stone ambo, which are both placed together with the already existing baptistery on the central axis of the transept.
