Energy efficiency and the use of renewable energies offer great potential which ought to be exploited applying state-of-the-art science and engineering combined with a keen understanding of local, state and regional issues, a knowledge of the past and a vision for the future. We take the lead in research of end-user behavior in residential housing (including low-energy and passive houses). Additionally, we focus on the prospering area of solar technology development and ecological restoration methods. These research projects are carried out in cooperation with a broad network of experts with regard to our own projects and their evaluation.

Moreover, to identify promising developments and to emphasize the need for further research in the future is another of our major goals.
